The old stables must be seen. They have been carefully renovated and turned into a café, and have been preserved to the extent possible. The original interior is an important part in making the café unique. For example, the old chains are still here and the tile floor is the same as when Birgit lived on the farm, as a reminder of her background and to document the old ways of life on the farm. In these very stables, Birgit milked the cows on the evening before she departed to Stockholm and the Royal College of Music. In beautiful and restful surroundings you can enjoy tasty sandwiches and homemade cakes, of which some are baked from Birgit’s own recipes. Take a seat in one of the old pigsties with a view over the meadows or the farmyard. If the weather allows it, you might want to enjoy your coffee in our outdoor serving area. At Birgit Nilsson Museum and the Stables café, there's free Wi-Fi available for our guests and visitors. The Stables café has no admission fee, and has the same opening hours as the museum.
